.NET Framework Security

.NET Framework Security
By : Brian A. LaMacchia, Sebastian Lange, Matthew Lyons, Rudi Martin, Kevin T. Price
Publisher : Addison Wesley ISBN : 0-672-32184-X

Description :

This is the best book about the security infrastructure of Microsoft .NET Framework that I have ever read. This book has brought me the overall picture of the .NET security system: How does the system work and interact with the existing security system on Win NT platform? In addition, the book is clearly written, well- organized, and full of in-depth information. Overall, I consider this is an excellent book which could satisfy the security needs for all .NET developers and administrators.
This book is divided into five sections:
1. Introduction to the .NET Developer Platform Security: This section provides an introduction to the .NET Framework platform and all of the new security features available. Although this section describes only brief information, I still recommend that every one should read it first before jumping to the others. The first section "provides common background material for the topic-specific discussions in the remainder of the book."

.NET Common Language Runtime UNLEASHED

.NET Common Language Runtime
By : Kevin Burton

Description :

As the books name stands I was expecting to learn lot of new internals about CLR from this book. But this book is a total disappointment. All the book covers is .NET Framework class information and the title says this book is about CLR. Most of the information covered by this book is already available from others books and there is nothing new in this book and this book covers 2% about CLR.
My recommendation is, if you want to know anything about CLR then this is not the book that you should read. If you want to learn anything about the .NET Framework classes, then this may be one of the books. But I'd suggest you to read the book "VB.NET Core Classes in a Nutshell" from O'Reilly.
